What's a Wiki?

A wiki is a special type of web page where anyone can add to it. YOU can change just about anything here.
This YouTube video explains what a wiki is all about.




What is it for?

You will use it to:
  1. Create a common set of class notes--a master set, if you will.
  2. Do collaborative projects, such as build study guides of novels.
  3. Get feedback on our writing.

How is it organized?

It is a web site like any other made up of individual pages. This is the "home" page. See, it says "home" in the top left corner. The other pages are listed in the sidebar at left under "navigation." We will add more pages as the year progresses

How does it work?

We will go over that part in class, and there is a "help" link up at top, but here's a "quick start" guide.
1. Use the navigation menu at left to choose a page to read or edit.
2. To edit the page, click "edit this page."
  • Make changes or additions in the editing box (add links, pics, videos, and formatting using the tool bar--it even floats!).
  • Click "save."
3. To read the page, move your eyes over the letters until words form and meaning takes shape in your head. Repeat
