A Great Feat

The special moment that I had during the Indian Mountain trip was seven minutes of my life that I will never forget. My special moment occurred while as I endeavored being on the ropes coarse. At first I was nervous and scared to even try the ropes coarse, but I was also eager and yearning to try. The first couple of steps up the ladder I started to get even terrified because I have a fear of heights.

The first section of the course I had to stand on a very thin cable and balancing myself with my hands from another cable up above. I made it through that section difficultly because and at some point I lost my footing and had to hold on with just my hands.

The second section of the ropes course was surprisingly much easier then the latter and the first part. I needed to stand on another thin cable by supporting myself with one cable on the left at neck level and another on the right. I thought this segment was really easy.

The final portion of the course was the scariest part of the whole ropes course. I had to balance myself on a log without the reassurance of the cables. What made it frightening is that this time I wasn’t holding on any cables or ropes. I was terrified because I had to inch my way across the log, and it took a long time.

I was glad that Theo was there to take my hand when I got close to the end of the log; his arm saved me from walking another four feet. After that, I glided down the zip-line and went to the ground.

In these brief seven minutes learned that I conquered my fear of heights. More importantly, I learned how loyal friends like Theo and the crew that was holding me up.
