56-57
Simon goes off into the jungle by himself, and enters a secret place.
This is the first time we see Simon go off on his own, him being the focus of the section. It has the reader believe that this is not the first time, and Simon has been off on his own many times exploring the island.
137-138
Simon goes to his clearing and encounters the lord of the flies. He then begins to speak to it. After a bit, he faints.
This reveals what an important character Simon is. In a sense, it almost foreshadows his death, as the lord of the flies reveals himself as the "beast" and says he will have fun with Simon.
146-147
Simon wakes up after fainting, and walks farther along in his clearing. He then finds the dead parachutist.
This makes it inevitable that Simon has to die. After seeing the parachute, he now knows the true identity of the beast. He is going to try and warn the tribe, but in the end, he is going to die.
