Annotations:1) In class we went through chapter three and Mr. Cohen explained how this chapter was like a sandwich. 2) It's like a sandwich because it starts with Jack alone connecting with the forest, and then ends with Simon alone connecting with the forest as well. 3) Below are the two descriptions of Jack and Simon in the forest alone. 4) Mr. Cohen wanted us to find 4 major things in the two pages. Actions of the character, his thoughts and/or feelings, key adjectives the author uses, and eye popping images.
Annotations: 1) This is the description of Jack alone in the jungle.2) We went over this in class so the group underlined all the important images, adjectives, thoughts/feelings, and actions.
Annotations:1) In class we talked about patterns in literature. 2) Unlike a pattern on a shirt, patterns in books don't have specific places to show up. If something repeats in a book, then it's a pattern.
